Recently, a 600 years old mosque in Turkestan had shifted to another place with the help of technology. This mosque was built in the 15th century. The most interesting thing is that while moving the mosque it did not cause much damage to it.

Why It Was Moved To Another Place?

A huge dam was built in Turkey called 'Elisu'. The dam was built in a historic city named Hasankeyf. It is said that much of the land and beautiful structures of the city will be flooded because of the dam. For that, the dam was moved so that it can't be flooded.

How Was It Shifted And Where?

The weight of the mosque is 4,500 tonnes. New technology, robots and big types of machinery were used to shift the mosque. To move the mosque a huge platform of 300 wheels was prepared. To save the mosque, it is now shifted to a park of Hasankeyf. This is a big achievement for the scientists and the archaeologists of Turkey.
